Pakistan Forms Cabinet Committee on Special Investment Facilitation

Islamabad, The Government of Pakistan has established a Cabinet Committee on Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to oversee and implement the council’s recommendations effectively. This initiative aims to streamline and enhance the investment climate in the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the newly formed committee will operate under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with significant figures such as the Army Chief, Provincial Chief Ministers, and the National Coordinator attending meetings by special invitation. The committee’s primary responsibility is to review and submit its decisions to the federal cabinet for final approval. This move is part of a broader government effort to boost economic growth through improved investment facilitation.

Additionally, the Prime Minister has also established a Cabinet Committee on Immigration, Overseas Employment, and Technical Vocational Education and Training. This committee will serve as a central platform coordinating various government agencies involved in overseas employment and technical training. It will oversee the approval of curricula and the monitoring frameworks for vocational institutions, and develop strategies to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking. The committee’s broader mandate includes forging stronger ties with international partners to enhance Pakistan’s workforce development and protection abroad.
