Pakistan Leadership Expresses Concern Over Iranian President Raisi’s Helicopter Incident

Islamabad, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have both expressed deep concern over the recent helicopter incident involving Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Reports from Iran indicate that President Raisi’s helicopter crashed upon landing in the Varzaqan region near the Azerbaijan border.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the incident occurred as President Raisi was returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a new dam. The IRNA, Iran’s official news agency, confirmed details of the crash and reported that Iran’s Red Crescent Society is intensifying efforts to locate the crash site. Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his anxiety and hopes for positive news via a post on his X handle, offering prayers and best wishes for President Raisi and the people of Iran. Similarly, President Zardari expressed his concerns on X, extending heartfelt prayers for President Raisi’s wellbeing and continued service to Iran.
