Pakistan’s Ambassador Calls for Action on Global Challenges at UN Nowruz Celebration

New York, At the annual meeting to celebrate the International Day of Nowruz held at the United Nations headquarters, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, highlighted the urgent need to address global challenges including conflict, poverty, inequality, religious intolerance, and climate change. In his remarks, Ambassador Akram also drew attention to the plight of individuals in Palestine, underscoring the ongoing tragedy they face.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Akram stressed the significance of Nowruz as not only a celebration but a time for profound contemplation. He described the event as emblematic of nature’s renewal and the resilience of the human spirit, emphasizing its role in fostering forgiveness, fresh beginnings, and acceptance. By doing so, Akram underscored the potential of Nowruz to inspire collective action towards overcoming the aforementioned global challenges.

Throughout his speech, Akram called for solidarity and action among the international community, urging attendees to remember “our brothers and sisters in Palestine” amidst the festivities.
