Pakistan’s Youth Program Aims to Harness Potential and Boost IT and Tourism Sectors

Islamabad, The Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood, outlined ambitious plans to leverage the vast young population of Pakistan for national development, focusing on technology, sports, and cultural promotion.

According to Press Information Department, Mashhood, during a press conference, underscored the significance of the 170 million Pakistanis under 30, emphasizing the need for proper guidance and opportunities in various fields. He recalled the successful youth-oriented initiatives from Shahbaz Sharif’s time as Chief Minister of Punjab, like the laptop scheme and education scholarships, pledging to extend these efforts nationwide.

Mashhood announced the expansion of the youth loan program and projected growth in the IT sector, aiming to increase its contribution to the economy significantly. He stressed the importance of digital skills and e-gaming, highlighting their potential for providing lucrative employment to the young population.

Additionally, the Chairman detailed plans to promote Pakistan’s culture and tourism on an international scale, including enhancing tourist facilities and experiences. Efforts to train young athletes for international competitions and support local artisans were also discussed as part of the broader strategy to empower and elevate the youth on global platforms.
