Planning Minister Urges Rapid Advancement of ML-1 Railway Project

Islamabad: In a decisive move to enhance Pakistan’s rail infrastructure, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has directed the immediate commencement of work on the ML-1 upgrade, a major component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting focused on CPEC projects, Minister Iqbal emphasized the importance of starting the ML-1 project without delay. He instructed the Ministry of Railways to finalize all necessary documentation and preparations.

Both Pakistani and Chinese officials have agreed to arrange a prompt meeting of the Joint Financing Committee to finalize the project’s timeline and stages. Minister Iqbal stressed the urgency and seriousness required for the successful implementation of projects under CPEC’s second phase.
