President felicitates Democratic Panel for winning press club elections

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated Tahir Hassan Khan, President and other office bearers of the Democratic Panel on winning all seats in the Karachi Press Club elections. The President said that victory of Democratic panel shows confidence of members of Press Club in democratic traditions.

He prayed for the success of the newly elected office bearers and hoped that they would continue to work for welfare of all the members of Karachi Press Club and protect the rights of journalists. The President said that the government is fully committed to independence of media. He also asked the newly elected President Tahir Hassan Khan to convey his felicitation to all other elected office bearers of Karachi Press Club.

The members of Democratic Panel who have been elected include Tahir Hassan Khan, President, Fazil Jameeli, Vice President, Mosa Kaleem, Secretary, M. Arif, Joint Secretary and M. Rizwan Bhatti, Treasurer. While members of the Governing Body include Asif Ji’a ja, Ghazala Faseeh, Ghulam Mustafa, Imdad Ali Soomro, Noman Rafique, Aman Ahmed, and Saeed Sarbazi.
