Supreme Court Declares Zulfiqar Bhutto’s Execution as Judicial Murder, Says Minister

Karachi: The Supreme Court has declared the execution of former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as a judicial murder, bringing closure to a 47-year struggle for justice by his heirs and relatives. This announcement was made by Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Provincial Minister of Energy and Planning, during a statement in which he paid tribute to Bhutto on his 97th birthday.

According to Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Nasir Shah emphasized Bhutto’s role as a beloved leader who stood against a dictator and ultimately faced execution. Shah highlighted Bhutto’s contributions to the nation, including the development of nuclear power and the strengthening of democracy by fostering political awareness among the populace. He also noted Bhutto’s efforts in uniting the Islamic world through the organization of the Islamic summit.

Shah further remarked on the enduring recognition of Bhutto’s popularity, capability, and political insight, which continue to be acknowledged globally. He added that the legacy of Shaheed Bhutto is being carried forward by his successors, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari.
