World Bank Praises BISP for Effective Implementation of Social Protection Initiatives

Islamabad: The World Bank has praised the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) for its effective implementation of the Crisis Resilient Social Protection Project. This commendation came during a visit by a World Bank delegation to the BISP office in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the delegation, led by Co-Task Team Leader Melis U Guven and including economist Zaineb Majoka, reviewed various aspects of BISP’s initiatives. BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid welcomed the delegation, expressing gratitude for the World Bank’s ongoing support and positive assessment of the program’s performance.

Guven highlighted the success of BISP’s Hybrid Social Protection Scheme, noting that it serves as a benchmark for other developing countries aiming to implement similar social protection programs. Khalid emphasized the importance of enhancing beneficiary awareness and extending outreach at the Union Council level to improve communication and mobilization efforts.
