Housing Ministry Cracks Down on Unauthorized Occupants in Federal Lodges

Islamabad, The Ministry of Housing and Works is enforcing stricter regulations to ensure transparency and fairness in the allocation of accommodations to federal government employees. Under the direction of Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Secretary Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, the ministry has issued eviction notices to all illegal and non-entitled occupants residing in Federal Lodges, Gulshan-e-Jinnah complex, Chunnri Lodge, and Ministry hostels.

According to Press Information Department, the ministry is providing opportunities for personal hearings to those affected, but is firm in its directive to vacate accommodations that are currently occupied by individuals who are not civil servants. The cleared lodgings will then be made available to eligible civil servants, particularly those in substantive posts in BS-17 and above who have been on the waiting list for official accommodations. This measure is part of a broader initiative to adhere to new rules set by the ministry, which include allotting accommodations only to those civil servants stationed at the respective lodges or hostels.

The ministry’s actions reflect a commitment to fairness, ensuring that accommodations are distributed equitably among entitled employees, aligning with Minister Pirzada’s vision of no relief for unauthorized allottees.
