Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal today praised Huawei’s significant role in advancing Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of a robust digital ecosystem to meet the contemporary digital demands of the country. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from Huawei Pakistan, led by CEO Ethan Sun, which focused on several key digital initiatives, including transforming Islamabad into a model smart city.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion also covered efforts to digitize educational infrastructure and enhance access to smart devices and connectivity for students in underprivileged areas. The Huawei team briefed Minister Iqbal on the progress of projects aimed at boosting digital learning and connectivity across Pakistan.

During the meeting, Huawei officials highlighted their online learning management system developed as part of the smart classroom initiative. This system is designed to facilitate new ICT courses nationwide, aiming to equip Pakistani students with essential digital skills.
