Mr. Abrar Ahmad elected as Chairman Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association

Lahore, October 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): Mr. Abrar Ahmad has been elected as Chairman Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA), whereas, Mr. Pervez Tanveer Tufail and Mr. Zafar Qidwai have been elected as Sn. Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. According to the formal announcement of the election results made by the election commission at 4th Annual General Meeting of PCMA held in chair with outgoing chairman Mr. Taimoor Dawood there were 10 vacant seats for the members of the Executive Committee for the year 2019-20 on which the 10 new members were elected unopposed.

The newly elected Executive Committee Members include Mr. Zafir Hussain, Mr. Arshaduddin Ahmed, Mr. Shahid Azeem, Mr. Pervez Tufail, Mr. Mansoor Haider, Mr. Khalid Majeed, Mr. Imran Ghafoor, Mr. Abrar Ahmed, Ms. Humaira Shazia (Women Seat) and Ms. Nabeela Intisar (Women Seat). The election commission composed to look after the whole election process was comprised of Mr. Imran Qureshi, Mr. Abdul Qayum and Mr. Khalid Majeed.

Mr. Taimoor Dawood, Outgoing Chairman, Mr. Faisal Akhtar, Outgoing Sn. Vice Chairman and Mr. Moazzam Rasheed, outgoing Vice Chairman congratulated the newly elected office bears and hoped they would continue the cause of PCMA with more vigour and dedication.

The outgoing president Mr. Taimoor Dawood highlighted main points of the progress made by PCMA during his tenure. Whereas, the newly elected president Mr. Abrar Ahmad presented a research based vision for development of the chemical industry in Pakistan. He told that the economic development made by the developed countries like Germany, USA, China and Japan had focused attention on promotion of the chemical sector and Pakistan also needs to develop this vital sector through a concrete strategy. Mr. Iqbal Kidwai, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General of the PCMA also made a presentation on this occasion.
