Relief assistance to victims of draught in Niger

Islamabad, July 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): On the behalf of Government and people of Pakistan, a cheque amounting to Rs. US$ 99,990/- was handed over to the Prime Minister of Republic of Niger by Pakistan’s CdA’ Dr. Manzoor A. Chaudhry for the relief assistance to the victims of the draught.

The Prime Minister of Niger Brigi Rafini thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the government of Pakistan for the relief assistance and stated that the crop failure of 2013 had resulted in severe food shortages. He added that the relief assistance from Pakistan will help ameliorate the situation to a considerable extent.
